The Real World at a Glance.

Good day everyone. I am currently in the Holiday Inn in Arlington VA on the balcony of the hotel room. I arrived here around 1pm and me and two friends visited around. we saw the Smithsonian. Hehe even took pics with the Hope Diamond and other amazing exhibits there. I am here because I applied to The Art Institute of Washington DC and got accepted so we came to a "college day" here. Around 10am we will be given a tour of the college and have a chance to cook in the kitchen with professors of the college. :) Amazing right? It is especially because it is a big difference than where I am from, back home you would hear dogs barking, roosters doing the rooster thing and just animals here on the balcony I am hearing cars drive by, sounds of machines doing their thing. Big change which isn't bad at all. The view is different as well, back hoe you can see trees and fields for miles on end but here you see buildings taller than anything back home, come on the McDonalds is two stories here. Well I am blogging because I can't sleep. I am 18 but I have never been this far away from my family, which may sound lame to some of you but hey family is family. So this is where I start to see life. In order for me to be able to move up here and attend the college I want to attend I must get over this, which I'm sure more than one person reading this has had to face at some point in your life. Do remember this at the start it may seem bad and you may be a bit homesick or just a little out of your comfort zone but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. I haven't even moved in yet but I know that is what will happen.

So anyways... It is very cold out here, it was pouring down rain almost all day and I learned another lesson... Never wear tight jeans when it is pouring down rain, lol bad idea. So this may have been a short post I am not sure what is considered short when it comes to blogs but my feet are freezing and I need to get some sleep because I have to wake up at 7am :) I wish you look on your journeys now and the ones to come :)

Hello to everyone and anyone who actually reads this. Awhile back I was asked to do an assignment in my English class at school. I had to complete an editorial style essay on a topic that I was passionate about; well I did my editorial on equal rights for same-sex marriage. All though I am not posting it on this particular blog I will be posting it on my blog entitled “This is way more important than checking…” After I post the editorial titled “We are all created equal, right” I will also post another assignment I did. The second assignment I will post had to be a speech on one of the thirteen virtues of Benjamin Franklin. I choose to do my speech, which I present in front of my peers, on the virtue Silence.

The main reason I am posting these two assignments on here is to hopefully get people that are not close to me in anyway opinions. Please feel free to comment whether it is good or bad feedback. Thank you

OMG its FRED the show xD

Haha, that is quite a nice title right :) here at my sisters house and my bro started to watch that show. :) FRED is pretty cool. so how has everyone been? what has everyone done? Read it:)

It is 02-15-2012... the day after Valentines day :) did everyone have fun? get fat? ha I sure didn't. I passed out candy at school :) so since last time I posted my life seems better, yeah things have been happening.. like deaths in the family and all but we can't let everything bring us down forever, can we? I have recently added the "share this" gadget to this blog and to my other one dealing with what i think are important issues in the country. :) my hair is still growing for Locks of Love :) yay. I recently joined "Trevorspace". Trevorspace is for people of the LGBTQ community as well as for heterosexuals :) it is for people of ages, if not mistaken, 14-24. It is where different people can meet new people, make friends, maybe even find your special someone:) It is also like the "Trevor Project", it is used to prevent suicides. I think everyone should join "TrevorSpace" as well as"The Trevor Project".

I also recently found out that on May of this year the citizens of North Carolina will be voting of SAME SEX MARRIAGE, I do not believe there should be a barrier on marriage. I believe marriage is/should be considered a privilege for the US citizens because not everywhere in this world are people allowed to get married whenever they want. Think abuot it before reading on... Do you think it is a privilege? and if it is a privilege, as stated in the US Constitution Amendment 14 Section 1 states:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

What that amendment says to me is anyone who is a citizen or has become a citizen of the USA has the right to marry who he/she chooses to without the state saying anything about it. I believe by the states making these laws on banning same-sex marriage is going against the US Constitution. If marriage is a privilege I believe all the states that have banned SAME SEX MARRIAGE, should have those same laws taken out of effect, because as I stated earlier the US Constitution clearly states that the states are not allowed to take away the privileges of a natural or naturalized citizen.
